Burberry describes its Lip Mist formula as a Creamy lipstick [which] offers a hint of natural, sheer color that leaves lips with a moist, dewy finish." I would say this is true, except that Lip Mists usually offer more than a hint of color. To me they are like a pigmented gloss. They feel creamy (as opposed to sticky) with a more toned down shine, and while the color is sheer enough that your natural lip color comes through, there is still appreciable color on there. I would say they are somewhere between semi-sheer and semi-opaque.
The wear time is about average for me (2-3 hours or so), unless I eat or drink. In that case I will need to reapply. That's to be expected with this kind of gloss-lipstick hybrid, and I don't mind it at all. These seem similar in premise to Chanel's Rouge Coco Shines. I would note that these have more color and wear longer on me than Rouge Coco Shines.
Field Rose is a lovely warm dusty rose with just a hint of pink shimmer, and applies as such on the lips. It looks softer and warmer on my lips than it does in the tube; it's a very 'my lips but better' shade that will go with pretty much everything. Field Rose is exactly the kind of color I love and it's my favorite of the two.
Nude Peach is, as the name suggests, a nude peach. There is no detectable shimmer in this shade. It has a lot of nude in it, but there is enough peach to keep it from looking beigey or brown. To me it's a nicely balanced shade; the peach adds life to the lips, while the nude keeps the color soft and natural. This is another shade that will go with everything. I think Nude Peach would be nice for someone who wants a very toned down version of all the bright peaches, oranges, and corals that are so popular this season.

Overall I am very happy with these lipsticks. I'm a gloss girl, but I sometimes I just really want to wear lipstick and these are a nice combination of the two. They glide on with ease, feel creamy and moisturizing, and give lips a nice amount of color and shine. I like Chanel's Rouge Coco Shines, but I prefer Burberry's Lip Mists. I purchased mine from the Burberry counter in Nordstrom Bellevue. They will be available soon online, but until then you can call Angie at the Nordstrom Bellevue Burberry counter at 425-455-5800 x1043 and she will ship them to you.
They are both so very pretty, you have me writing up a list of wants ;)
ReplyDeleteThese look like such lovely natural colours. I wish I could easily access Burberry...or do I? LOL
